The day starts ordinary. You go for the walk you take most weekends. You see something you have never seen before, in the grass — small, purple, easy to miss. You take a photo. You walk another fifty metres and look up, and there is something else you have never seen before, on the ridge ahead. You take a photo of that too. By dinner you have stopped expecting the day to be ordinary. The next day it will be ordinary again.
